Clarinettist John Finucane, who has been Principal Clarinet with Ireland’s RTE National Symphony Orchestra since 1995, is described as ‘an outstanding virtuoso’ and ‘has wowed Irish audiences for decades with his superlative clarinet playing’.
With an active career as a soloist, chamber musician and conductor in Ireland and abroad, he has worked with the Ulysses Ensemble, the Irish Chamber Orchestra, Welsh National Opera, Opera North and Irish Film Orchestras, to name just a few.
John’s recent and upcoming concerts include a concert performance of Nielsen’s Clarinet Concerto with the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra conducted by Daniel Blendulf at the National Concert Hall, Music for Galway’s Midwinter Festival 2020 with pianist Cédric Tiberghien, and a performance with the Hibernian Orchestra.
